T9310-02

The T9310‑02 is a 2‑meter backplane expansion cable for the AADvance T9100 chassis, used to link multiple T9100 6U chassis together while maintaining the system’s fault‑tolerant backplane communication and power distribution. It enables distributed, multi‑chassis SIS configurations without compromising safety or data integrity. It is a passive, high‑reliability cable assembly that extends the internal backplane bus between chassis, supporting all T9xxx processor and I/O modules in a unified system.

1. Introduction

  • Function: 2m backplane expansion cable for T9100 multi‑chassis systems

  • Compatibility: AADvance T9100 6U chassis (all revisions), T9300/T9310 controller family

  • Length: 2 meters (standard; other lengths available as T9310‑xx)

  • Connectors: High‑density D‑subminiature, locked, industrial‑grade

  • Shielding: Fully shielded for EMI/RFI protection

  • Safety: Maintains SIL 3 fault‑tolerant architecture across chassis

2. Product Overview

The T9310‑02 provides a direct extension of the T9100 chassis backplane bus, allowing up to four T9100 chassis to be interconnected in a single system. The cable carries:
  • Backplane communication signals (for T9110, T9300, T94xx modules)

  • Redundant power distribution (24 VDC)

  • Fault‑tolerant synchronization signals

  • Module identification and slot mapping data

Key features:
  • 2 m length: Standard for most cabinet‑to‑cabinet or side‑by‑side chassis layouts

  • Locked connectors: Prevent accidental disconnection in high‑vibration environments

  • Fully shielded: Meets EMC requirements for industrial SIS

  • Hot‑swap safe: Connect/disconnect only when chassis power is OFF

  • SIL 3 compliant: Preserves system safety integrity level across expanded backplane

  • Robust construction: Industrial‑grade jacket, oil/chemical resistant

Common applications:
  • Multi‑chassis AADvance systems (2–4 × T9100)

  • Cabinet‑to‑cabinet SIS expansion

  • Large I/O counts requiring multiple chassis

  • Distributed safety systems in process, oil/gas, and power

4. Installation & Connection

  1. Power OFF: Ensure all connected T9100 chassis are powered down.

  2. Connector Alignment: Align D‑sub connectors with backplane expansion ports (rear of T9100 chassis).

  3. Insert & Lock: Push connectors firmly, then tighten locking screws (hand‑tight only).

  4. Cable Routing: Route cable with minimum 8× diameter bend radius; avoid sharp edges and high‑vibration areas.

  5. Power ON: Apply power to chassis; verify backplane communication via AADvance software.

  6. Hot‑Swap Note: Do not connect/disconnect while powered—risk of backplane damage.
