5. Key Features

  1. High Dynamic Performance
Low inertia rotor enables fast acceleration/deceleration and rapid positioning, ideal for high-speed applications.
  2. High-Resolution Encoder
βiA128 incremental encoder provides 128,000 pulses per revolution for precise speed and position control.
  3. Integrated Holding Brake
Equipped with a DC24V electromagnetic holding brake, suitable for vertical axes and suspended loads to prevent falling.
  4. IP65 Protection
Suitable for general factory environments with dust and coolant splash.
  5. Brushless Construction
Low noise, low wear, and long service life; maintenance-free under normal use.
  6. Natural Cooling
Fanless design reduces noise and improves reliability.
  7. Compact & High Power Density
Small size with high torque output, easy for mechanical integration.

6. Recommended Amplifier

  • Compatible Series: FANUC βiS Servo Amplifiers

  • Example Model: A06B-6160-H003 (or equivalent βiS amplifier for 1.2 kW)

7. Applications

  • CNC machine tools (lathes, milling machines, machining centers)

  • Industrial automation and positioning systems

  • High-speed pick-and-place equipment

  • Packaging, printing, and conveying machinery

  • Vertical axes and suspended loads (with brake)

8. Installation Instructions

  1. Mounting Surface
Install on a rigid, flat, and vibration-free base to avoid resonance and mechanical stress.
  2. Shaft Alignment
Align motor shaft and load shaft precisely to prevent excessive vibration, noise, and bearing damage.
  3. Cabling
Use shielded servo power cables and encoder cables. Separate power and signal wiring to minimize electromagnetic interference. For the brake, use a dedicated DC24V power line.
  4. Heat Dissipation
Maintain clear space around the motor housing for natural convection; do not cover cooling surfaces.
  5. Handling
Avoid heavy impact, dropping, or compression on the motor body and encoder cover.

9. Maintenance

  1. Regular Inspection
Check for unusual noise, vibration, or overheating during operation. Test the brake function periodically.
  2. Cleaning
Keep motor surface free of dust, metal chips, and oil.
  3. Bearings
Sealed bearings are pre-lubricated for life; no routine greasing required.
  4. Encoder & Cables
Inspect encoder cables and connectors periodically for damage or looseness. Check brake wiring for wear.
  5. Operation Limits
Avoid continuous overload and excessive frequent start–stop cycles. Do not use the brake for dynamic stopping.

10. Safety Precautions

  1. Electrical Safety
Disconnect all power before wiring or maintenance. Wait at least 15 minutes for capacitor discharge to prevent electric shock. The brake must be powered off when not in use.
  2. Moving Parts
Do not touch rotating shaft or moving components during operation.
  3. Brake Safety
This model is equipped with a holding brake. The brake is for holding only, not for dynamic braking. Ensure the brake is energized (released) during operation and de-energized (engaged) when stopped or power is cut off.
  4. Do Not Disassemble
Unauthorized disassembly of motor, brake, or encoder will void warranty and may damage precision components.
  5. Environmental Protection
Do not use in environments with conductive dust, heavy condensation, or chemical corrosion without proper protection.

11. Troubleshooting

  • Motor does not start
Check 3-phase power, wiring connections, amplifier alarms, servo enable signals, and brake release signal.
  • Abnormal noise or vibration
Check mounting rigidity, shaft alignment, bearing condition, mechanical load jamming, and brake drag.
  • Motor overheating
Check for overload, high ambient temperature, blocked ventilation, insulation deterioration, or brake not fully released.
  • Positioning error
Check encoder cable damage, loose connectors, parameter mismatch, mechanical backlash, or brake slipping.
  • Unstable speed
Check power supply fluctuation, sudden load changes, encoder signal interference, or brake drag.
  • Brake failure
Check DC24V brake power supply, wiring, coil resistance, and mechanical friction.
