5. Key Features
Integrated 24 VDC Holding Brake: Maintains position when power is off; enhances safety for vertical or suspended loads.
High-Resolution Encoder: B128iA (128K) incremental encoder provides precise position/speed feedback for high-precision motion control.
IP67 Sealed Construction: Dust-tight and protected against water immersion; suitable for harsh industrial environments.
Compact High Torque: Delivers 3.5 N·m rated torque in a compact frame; ideal for space-constrained, high power density applications.
Maintenance-Free Operation: Brushless design eliminates brush wear; sealed, pre-lubricated bearings for life under normal conditions.
6. Applications
CNC machine tools (milling, lathes, machining centers)
Industrial robots and automation equipment
Precision positioning systems
High-speed pick-and-place machines
General industrial motion control (especially vertical-axis applications)
7. Installation Guidelines
Mounting: Use flange holes to mount on a rigid, flat, vibration-free surface. Avoid misalignment-induced mechanical stress.
Shaft Alignment: Accurately align motor and load shafts to prevent vibration, noise, and premature bearing wear.
Cabling: Use shielded cables for power and encoder wiring to reduce EMI. Separate power and signal cables.
Ventilation: Ensure free airflow around the motor; do not block heat-dissipation areas.
Encoder & Brake Handling: The encoder is a precision component—avoid shocks. Connect the brake to a regulated 24 VDC supply.
8. Maintenance
Regular Inspection: Check for unusual noise, vibration, or overheating. Inspect cables/connectors for damage or looseness.
Cleaning: Keep the motor surface clean of dust, chips, and moisture. Use a dry cloth; avoid water/harsh chemicals.
Bearing Maintenance: Bearings are maintenance-free under normal use. Contact FANUC or an authorized service provider if abnormal noise occurs.
Encoder & Brake Care: Keep encoder cables intact. Periodically test brake operation to ensure proper holding force.
9. Safety Precautions
Electrical Safety: Disconnect all power before installation/maintenance. Wait ≥15 minutes for capacitors to discharge to prevent electric shock.
Mechanical Safety: Do not touch rotating shafts during operation. Secure loads before starting; the brake is for holding, not stopping motion.
Environmental Safety: Do not use in explosive, flammable, or corrosive atmospheres unless specially modified.
Warranty Note: Warranty excludes damage from liquids, improper installation, misuse, or unauthorized modification.
10. Troubleshooting
Motor Does Not Run: Check power supply, wiring, servo amplifier status, and alarm codes. Verify brake release (24 VDC applied).
Abnormal Noise/Vibration: Inspect shaft alignment, mounting rigidity, and bearings. Check for loose components.
Overheating: Verify ambient temperature, ventilation, and load conditions. Check winding insulation.
Positioning Error: Check encoder connection, cable integrity, and servo parameter settings. Inspect mechanical backlash.
Brake Failure: Test 24 VDC supply; inspect brake wiring and coil resistance.
11. Warranty & Support
Warranty Period: 1 year from the date of shipment.
Repair Service: Available via FANUC or authorized service providers.
Technical Support: Contact FANUC technical support or local distributors for technical questions.
