The KEBA DI325/B is a high-density, high-speed digital input module launched by the Austrian KEBA company. It is a core I/O component of the KeControl / Kemro system and is specifically designed for high-end industrial automation scenarios. The module integrates 32 independent high-speed input channels and adopts an European-style card cage structure, compatible with KEBA's dedicated backplane bus. It serves as a high-speed data acquisition interface for field sensors, switch signals, and the main control system, and is widely used in injection molding machines, machine tools, robots, presses, and high-speed packaging equipment, meeting the requirements for high-precision and high-real-time signal acquisition. It is certified with CE and RoHS, and is compatible with harsh industrial environments. 

II. Core Functions

32 Independent High-Speed Digital Inputs

Provide 32 isolated digital input channels, each channel independently collecting 24V DC voltage signals or dry contacts (NO/NC) signals. It is suitable for components such as proximity switches, photoelectric switches, limit switches, emergency stop buttons, and relay contacts. A single module can meet the requirements for large-scale point signal collection.

High-speed Response and Precise Level Recognition

Typical response time ≤ 50μs. Supports high-speed pulses and high-frequency switch signals collection; clear level threshold: ON ≥ 15V DC, OFF ≤ 5V DC. Effectively suppresses signal jitter and avoids false triggering. Suitable for high-speed automation timing and precise control scenarios.

Enhanced Electrical Isolation and Anti-interference

Adopts dual design of photoelectric isolation + electromagnetic shielding. The field side (24V DC) and the system side are completely electrically isolated, blocking ground loops, frequency converter and motor electromagnetic interference (EMI). Suitable for strong interference industrial environments, ensuring stable signal transmission.

Channel Status Visualization and Fault Diagnosis

Each channel is equipped with an independent green LED indicator, which displays the input on/off status (on = ON, off = OFF) in real time. Integrated channel short circuit/overload detection function. When abnormal, the indicator light flashes rapidly, facilitating quick fault location at the site and reducing maintenance complexity.

High-performance Bus Communication and Easy Integration

Natively compatible with KEBA's dedicated backplane bus, supports microsecond-level data interaction, plug-and-play without additional configuration; compatible with KeControl P30/Kemro series control systems, supports hot swapping, allowing module replacement without downtime, reducing maintenance downtime.

Multiple Protection and High Reliability

Integrated overvoltage protection, reverse polarity protection, channel short circuit protection, thermal protection. Four. Design features

Hardware-level high-speed response, supports microsecond-level signal acquisition, suitable for high-speed motion control and precise detection scenarios; can be configured through system software with input filtering time and level threshold, suitable for different sensors and signal types, highly flexible.

Injection molding machinery: Collecting mold closing / opening limit signals, pin position signals, safety door switch signals, level sensors, pressure alarm signals, etc., to achieve precise control of the injection molding process.

Machine equipment: Used for travel switches, tool detection, coolant level, spindle positioning, emergency stop signal collection in CNC machines and machining centers, suitable for high-speed cutting and precision processing scenarios.

Robot system: Collecting safety fence switches, emergency stop buttons, zero-point sensors, fixture position signals, collision sensors signals, ensuring the safety and positioning accuracy of robots.

High-speed packaging and logistics machinery: Detecting bag position completion, sealing completion, counting sensors, conveyor belt deviation switch, tension signals, suitable for high-speed packaging lines and intelligent logistics conveyor lines.

Six. Installation and wiring Installation steps

Make sure the control cabinet is powered off, align the module with the KEBA standard backplane slot, and push it in smoothly until the latch locks. Ensure the bus interface is in good contact.

Before powering on, check if the module is securely fixed without any looseness; confirm that the backplane bus power supply is normal (24V DC/5V DC).

The module supports hot swapping. During operation, replacement can be done without power interruption; simply plug and unplug.

Cable Wiring Specifications

Power Supply: Provided by the backplane bus at 24V DC (field side) and 5V DC (system side), no external power supply required.

Input Signals: Terminal for 32 channels (I1 to I32), common terminal connected to the negative pole of 24V DC (0V), the other end of the sensor/sensor switch connected to the corresponding input terminal; dry contacts directly connected to the input terminal and the common terminal.

Cable Wiring Requirements: Use 0.5 to 1.5mm² multi-strand copper wire, tighten the terminals, avoid loose connections; separate strong and weak current lines for wiring to reduce interference; 32-channel grouped wiring for easy maintenance and fault troubleshooting.

Debugging and Fault Troubleshooting

After powering on, the corresponding channel LED lights up to indicate ON (≥15V), off to indicate OFF (≤5V).

No Signal: Check if the wiring is loose, if the sensor power supply is normal, and if the backplane bus connection is reliable.

Signal Jitter: Check if the lines are affected by strong interference, if the sensor installation is firm, and if the filter time configuration is reasonable.

Channel Abnormalities: When the LED flashes rapidly, check if the corresponding channel is short-circuited or overloaded; isolate the faulty channel without affecting the normal operation of other channels.
