PCI-6602 User Manual (Chinese Version - Simplified Operation)

1. Hardware Installation

Power-off operation: Shut down the PC and unplug the power cord.

Insert card: Insert PCI-6602 into the 5 V PCI slot and tighten the retaining screw.

Cabling:

Use SH68-68-D1/E1 shielded cable to connect the 68-pin SCSI port

Counter signals: CI0–CI7 (input), CO0–CO7 (output)

DIO: D0–D31 (bidirectional)

RTSI: Synchronize other NI boards (such as DAQ, motion control)

Power/ground: +5 V, GND (connector power supply ≤ 1 A)

2. Driver and software installation

Install NI-DAQmx (required, recommended latest version)

Open NI MAX (Measurement & Automation Explorer)

Find PCI-6602 under "Devices and Interfaces"

Right-click for self-check, "Passed" indicates normal hardware

Development environment: LabVIEW, C/C++, Python, VB (DAQmx API)

3. Common configuration of counter (DAQmx)

Working mode: Event counting, frequency, period, pulse width, encoder (A/B/Z), pulse generation, pulse string

Clock source: Prefer 80 MHz internal (high precision); Use ×8 predivider for high-frequency external signals

Predivider: Input > 80 MHz must use ×8 (up to 125 MHz)

De-icing: Software setting (filter ≤ 1 μs spikes)

Count direction: Add/Subtract; Encoder A/B phase automatically determines direction

DMA: Enable DMA for high-speed acquisition (reduce CPU usage)

4. Digital I/O operations

Direction configuration: Set 8-bit port as input/output

Read/write mode: Static read/write (no handshake), suitable for low-speed control

Power-on state: Input high impedance, weak pull-down (avoid false triggering) NI

5. Key precautions

Level matching: Only supports 5 V TTL/CMOS,严禁 connecting ±12 V/24 V

Common ground: Equipment and the measured object must be grounded to reduce noise

Output load: ≤ 24 mA per channel, avoid short circuit

High-frequency signal: > 1 MHz use shielded line, length ≤ 2 m

Heat dissipation: Ensure cabinet ventilation for 80 MHz long-term full load

6. Common problems

Cannot find device: Replace 5 V PCI slot, reinstall DAQmx, refresh MAX

Counting error: Check common ground, de-icing, predivider, signal level

Trigger anomaly: Confirm trigger source, polarity, level, RTSI connection
