The NI PCI-6510 is a National Instruments (NI) industrial-grade 32-channel isolated digital input card (30 V, full card isolation, source/drain selectable), PCI bus, half-length card, featuring:
32 channels of isolated DI (±30 VDC, group isolation, source/drain selectable, digital filtering, watchdog)
Suitable for 24 V industrial sensors, PLC signal acquisition, relay contact detection, factory automation, and switch input in strong interference environments.

V. Installation and Usage Tips Installation
Power off and disconnect, insert into the standard PCI half-length slot; after startup, identify with MAX, install NI-DAQmx.
Wiring (37-pin D-Sub)
DI common terminal: Isolated ground, separated from the system ground to avoid ground loop.
24 V sensor: Positive pole connected to DI, negative pole connected to isolated ground (sink type); or vice versa (source type).
Contact signal: One end connected to DI, the other end connected to isolated ground / 24 V.
Do not exceed ±30 V to prevent damage to optocouplers.
Software configuration (NI-DAQmx)

Filtering: Enable 10–50 ms debounce, suitable for relays

Each card is isolated from each other, and the common-mode voltage should not exceed ±30 V.
The long line uses a shielded cable, with the shield connected to the isolation ground and not connected to the system ground.
It is not suitable for direct connection to high voltage (>30 V), and a relay / optocoupler adapter needs to be added.
