Protocol: Foxboro proprietary + HART pass‑through
Data Update: 50 ms (default)
Max HART Devices: 8 (one per channel)
Basic Installation & Usage
Mounting
Snap into standard I/A Series DIN rail or baseplate.
Secure latch; ensure full seating for backplane contact.
Wiring
Connect field devices (transmitters, positioners) to TA (Termination Assembly).
4–20 mA: 2‑wire (AI) / 4‑wire (AO); HART: 2‑wire (loop‑powered).
Separate analog and digital cables; use shielded twisted pair for HART.
Each channel isolated; no common ground between channels.
Configuration (I/A Series Software)
Set channel mode: AI / AO / HART AI / HART AO.
Configure range (4–20 mA / 0–10 V) and scaling.
Enable HART (baud rate: 1200 bps); set NE 43 fault thresholds.
Assign failsafe state (hold / 0 % / 100 %) for AO channels.
Set scan rate (10–100 ms) and enable diagnostics.
Operation
RUN (green): module ok; FAULT (red): error (short circuit, comms).
Channel LED: ON = active; FLASH = fault; HART = HART communication.
Monitor HART variables (PV, SV, diagnostics) in HMI.
Use HART hand‑held terminal for on‑site configuration.
Maintenance
Hot‑swap faulty module (no shutdown).
Inspect TA wiring, shields, and grounds annually.
Update firmware via I/A Series software.
Calibration: Not required (factory‑calibrated; on‑board diagnostics).
Typical Applications
HART transmitter interface (pressure, flow, level, temperature).
Control valve positioners with HART feedback.
Mixed analog/HART I/O for skids and package units.
Migration of legacy FBM04/FBM05 to 200‑series FBMs.
