Description

1. General Description

The CI801 is a high‑performance, configurable fieldbus communication interface (FCI) that connects the ABB S800 I/O system to a PROFIBUS DP‑V1 network. It acts as a PROFIBUS slave, enabling data exchange between S800 I/O modules and PROFIBUS DP masters (e.g., ABB AC 800M controllers, third‑party PLCs/DCS).

Signal processing and data acquisition from S800 I/O modules

Supervision and diagnostic data collection

Hot Configuration In Run (HCIR) – online I/O module configuration without stopping the system

HART pass‑through – transparent communication with HART‑compatible field devices
