Description

3500/15 (Bentley 3500 System Power Module)

Model: 3500/15 (Common Spare Part Number: 127610-01)

Brand: Bently Nevada

Series: 3500 Mechanical Protection System (Powering the entire chassis module)

Position: Half-height redundant power module, providing stable DC power for all monitoring / relays / communication cards in the 3500 chassis, supporting dual power redundancy and hot swapping

I. Basic Parameters

1. Electrical Specifications

Input Voltage: 85–264 VAC (General type, 50/60 Hz)

Output Voltage: +5 VDC (Backplane Bus), +24 VDC (Auxiliary)

Maximum Output Power: 140 W (Each module can power a full rack)

Output Current: +5 VDC approximately 28 A; +24 VDC approximately 6 A

Efficiency: > 85%

Protection Mechanism: Overvoltage, Undervoltage, Overcurrent, Short Circuit, Overheating, Overload Automatic Protection

2. Environmental and Mechanical

Operating Temperature: 0 °C ~ +65 °C

Storage Temperature: -40 °C ~ +85 °C

Relative Humidity: 5%–95% (No Condensation)

Size (Height × Width × Depth): 241.3 × 24.4 × 241.8 mm (Half-height Card)

Weight: 0.91 kg

Installation: Dedicated power slot on the leftmost side of the 3500 rack (Main on the bottom, Backup on the top)

3. Redundancy and Certification

Redundancy Configuration: Supports dual power supply (1+1 redundancy), hot-swappable (Requires dual power supply configuration)

Certification: CE, CSA, ATEX, C-Tick, etc.

II. Core Functions

Full Rack Power Supply: Provides stable +5 VDC backplane power for all modules (such as 3500/32, 3500/33, 3500/42, etc.) within the 3500 rack.

Redundancy and Fault Tolerance: When using dual power supply, the lower slot is the primary and the upper slot is the backup; In case of the main power supply failure, it automatically switches to the backup without interruption, with a switching time < 10 ms.

Hot-swappable Maintenance: In redundant mode, faulty power supply can be replaced online without affecting system operation.

Status Monitoring: The power supply's own status (Input/Output Voltage, Temperature, Fault) can be monitored and alarmed through the rack software.

III. Installation and Wiring

1. Installation Location

Must be installed in the two half-height slots on the leftmost side of the 3500 rack (Slot 0 / Slot 1).

Single Power Supply: Prefer the lower slot (Slot 0); Dual Power Supply: Slot 0 (Primary), Slot 1 (Backup).

2. AC Input Wiring (Terminal Block) Table

Terminal Explanation

L Live wire

N Neutral wire

PE Protection ground

Connection points:

For the input side, use a 10 A circuit breaker with double-pole isolation for phase wire / neutral wire.

The power supply wire diameter should be ≥ 1.5 mm², and the shielded wire should be grounded at one end.

Keep away from strong interference sources such as frequency converters and motors.

3. Status indicator lights (panel)

PWR (green): Input is normal and output is stable (always on).

FLT (red): Fault (overvoltage / undervoltage / overcurrent / overheating / short circuit).

AC OK (green): AC input is normal.

Four. Configuration and Redundancy

Single power supply mode: Insert into the lower slot, and it can directly supply power to the entire rack.

Dual power supply redundancy:

Insert one 3500/15 unit in each upper and lower slot.

The rack can automatically identify as primary or backup, and the main unit will automatically switch when it fails.

The "Redundancy Active" status can be viewed in the software.

Five. Common Faults and Maintenance

FLT red light is on:

Input abnormal: Check AC 85–264 VAC, wiring, and circuit breaker.

Output overload: Rack module total power consumption > 140 W, reduce modules or add redundant power supplies.

Overheating: Environment > 65 °C or poor heat dissipation, improve ventilation.

Internal fault: Replace the power module.

No output (PWR off): Input power failure, fuse melting, module damage → Check input / fuse or replace the module.

Regular maintenance: Clean the cooling fan / filter every quarter, check the tightness of the connection terminals; modules are maintenance-free, and faults can be directly replaced with spare parts.
