III. Core Functions

IV. Installation and Wiring

(1) Installation Steps

Environmental Check: No corrosive gases, no strong electromagnetic interference (far away from frequency converters / large contactors), reserve ≥ 20mm heat dissipation space.

Mechanical Installation:

Align with HIMA sub-rack (such as F-BASE RACK 11) slot, push in smoothly;

Tighten panel fixing screws to ensure reliable contact of backplane bus connector.

Wiring (power off operation):

System Power: Connect module L+/L - terminals with cable ≥ 1.5mm²;

Controller Bus: Connect CPU module (F7529) HIBUS interface (redundant);

I/O Sub-rack Bus: Connect I/O sub-rack HIBUS interface (redundant);

Grounding: Connect module ground to cabinet protection ground, grounding resistance ≤ 4Ω.

Power On Check: Power on, PWR light is constantly on, WD light flashes (watchdog normal), SEL light off, bus communication Link light is on.

(2) Panel Indicators

PWR (green): Power normal, off = 24V/5V input abnormal;

WD (yellow): Watchdog normal flashing, on/off = module failure / not running;

SEL (yellow): Status selection indication, flashing = bus configuration in progress, on = communication failure.

V. Operation and Maintenance

(1) Normal Operation

After power-on, the module automatically initializes and establishes bus connection with CPU and I/O sub-rack;

Real-time monitoring of bus communication quality, power supply status, and module temperature, immediate alarm for faults;

Through HIMA Safety Suite software, can diagnose module status, configure bus parameters online.

(2) Fault Handling

WD light on/off:

Check 24V/5V power input, wiring terminals;

Check whether the bus connectors are loose or have poor contact;

Replace the same model F7553 module through hot swapping.

SEL light is constantly on:

Check whether the bus cable is damaged or short-circuited;

Confirm that the CPU and I/O rack bus configuration are consistent;

Restart the switch or reconfigure the bus parameters.

Communication interruption:

Check the bus redundancy switching status, and troubleshoot the faulty link;

Clean the contact points of the bus connectors to remove the oxide layer;

Replace the test with a spare bus cable.

(III) Maintenance cycle

Daily: Check the indicator lights every day, confirm no alarms and normal communication;

Quarterly: Check the tightness of the connection terminals, no overheating / oxidation, and clean the dust on the module surface;

Annual: Conduct a comprehensive diagnosis through software operation, and back up the bus configuration parameters;

Storage: When not in use for a long time, disconnect the power supply and store it in a dry and cool environment with a temperature range of -40℃ to +85℃.
